Lee, a hair stylist from Herefordshire, decided to convert a campervan after renting a motorhome to travel around Scotland at the age of 19. He was instantly hooked and set himself a mission to make the most glamorous campervan you can imagine. From pristine white interior and a ceramic tiled ensuite to an incredibly powerful electrical system to enable his hair dressing business, Lee has put the glamlife into vanlife.
"From the get go of the van build, I said I wanted it to be like a house inside. I wanted to do everything I can do now – like have an oven, & being a hairdresser I wanted to use a hairdryer! … so I needed a powerful battery for it right?... I was able to do my clients hair in my van – and it was all because of my Roamer 460 battery!"
Lee's Electrical System
After a memorable trip to Scotland when Lee was 19 in his first motorhome rental, Lee decided he wanted to alter his life by building his very own wheels of luxury. He loved the freedom it gave him and the ability to cut and style customers hair anywhere on the road.
From the get go of Lee’s campervan build, he wanted it to feel like a house inside with all the home comforts and luxuries you might only expect to indulge in when in the comfort of a house. He wanted an oven, a shower, a powerful hair dryer and a range of other high—powered appliances to enable him to do everything he does at home within the restraints of a campervan.
“When I was in Scotland last time, I met a client in Loch Lomond who usually comes to me in Herefordshire from Glasgow. I was able to cut and style her hair from my campervan, all because of my Roamer battery. I love being able to cut hair whilst taking in the most amazing views that cost millions of pounds for some people but we can do it next to nothing when we convert a camper.”

"I'm excited for my next adventure"
Within the Vanlife community, we often share a passion for travel & new experiences. This naturally comes with a lot of change. So with great excitement, Lee has a move overseas on the horizon & sadly can’t take Josephine with him on this next chapter. And so a new owner & new adventures will be had for this amazing conversion! Cecile at Vanpuravida has been helping Lee to find Josephine a new owner to love & care for her.
The Roamer team got to see the van at Camp Quirky & it was very satisfying to see one of our batteries in situ in one of the most modern & stylish van builds we’ve witnessed. A truly bespoke & quality build means that we’ll definitely be able to spot Josephine at a festival or on the road again soon!
